  • Recommendation by DRC and BRS: Till November 17, 2025
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: November 21, 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is governed by University Ordinance VI and the UGC PhD Regulations (2022):

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in a relevant master’s degree.
  • NET-JRF or valid UGC NET scores from December 2024 and June 2025 (for Phase I) or June 2025 and December 2025 (for Phase II).
  • Specific departmental eligibility conditions apply as per the DU PhD BOI 2025-26.

Application Process

The process for applying is entirely online through the DU portal https://phd2025.uod.ac.in.

  1. Register on the official PhD admission portal.
  2. Fill in personal, academic, and research details.
  3. Upload a research proposal (mandatory for most departments).
  4. Pay the registration fee:
    • UR / EWS / OBC-NCL: Rs. 750 per program
    • SC / ST / PwBD: Rs. 300 per program

  • Special provisions for DU teaching and non-teaching staff (supernumerary seats).

Interview Process

  • All candidates must appear in a physical interview held at their respective departments.
  • Interview evaluation based on candidate’s research proposal and academic record (total 30 marks).
  • Final merit lists combine NET score (70%) + Interview (30%).
